This month I was astonished by a recent commentary on financial literacy by one of my favorite interviewees, Dr. Stephen Leeb. He's one of the few people in the financial industry I think I'd enjoy chatting over coffee and picking his brain for ideas. In the interview he states that mathematics skills for 15-year-olds worlwide the U.S. ranks... not in the top 10... nor the top 20... or the top 30 either! Since I saw what public education works like from the inside out for over 10 years, I haven't been a fan of our public education system, but that was shocking!
How long ago were gas prices on average less than $2 per gallon?

There's never been this much debt, this much currency, this much derivative action, this many countries in the same situation at the same time, and the banking industry has no safety net... [LINK]
